Materials: Carbon

A factory with state-of-the-art technology, boasting 1,900 square meters of roofed surfaces, holds all key elements required for the production of top-quality carbon products.

In our striving for perfection of our finished products that bear the Akrapovič sign, we have, by following the current situation in motorsports and with encouragement from our sports R&D department, also entered the world of motorcycle carbon parts production. This allowed us to no longer be dependent on irregular supply by external contractors as well as achieve a significant improvement in the quality of our finished products. We have therefore been regularly engaged in the production of carbon parts since 2003.

Carbon parts are produced in Kamnik pod Krimom, located 30 km from the company's headquarters.

Production

The factory consists of a warehouse and cold-storage for raw material and carbon fibers respectively, autoclaves, carbon fiber fabric cutting machines, computer-guided machines for the treatment of semi-manufactured products, tailoring room, paint and polishing sections.

Akrapovič d.d. currently employs 87 people in this production plant.

We produce:

  • heat shields,
  • clamps and brackets
  • muffler outer sleeves,
  • carbon fiber exhaust end caps

Main benefits of carbon fiber strengthened composites are:

  • specific weight (up to 8 times lower than with steel),
  • flexibility (can withstand extreme mechanical loads),
  • tensile strength (80 times bigger per weight unit of material than with steel),
  • great product design possibilities (very complicated shapes),
  • optimization of the shape with regard to strength requirements,
  • any size (from lighter – 1g products, to heavier – up to a couple 100 kg),
  • attractive appearance;
