It is the fourth generation of the 800cc GSV-R four-stroke prototype Grand Prix bike and has been developed for the 2010 season with a focus of improved acceleration as well as increased durability to coincide with the new engine restrictions that will be implemented into this year’s championship. Improvements to aerodynamics, chassis performance and electronic systems go to make this the most technically advanced racing motorcycle that the Suzuki factory has ever produced.
The latest incarnation of the Rizla Suzuki GSV-R features a Troy Lee Designs-inspired livery with a dynamic new shade of ‘Rizla blue’, and will be seen in the flesh during next week’s final pre-season test at Qatar, before making its racing debut - also at Qatar - on Sunday April 11th.

Tadeusz Blazusiak, KTM's extreme Enduro supremo on Saturday blasted his way to another clean sweep...

The 2010 Indoor Enduro title is just one more piece of silverware to add to the Polish factory rider's impressive collection. He was AMA GEICO Endurocross Champion in 2009 and in June also emerged undisputed king of the hill after his third consecutive victory in the notorious Hare Scramble at the Erzberg Rodeo.

Spanish favourite and last year's champion Ivan Cervantes (KTM Enduro Factory Team) was second behind Blazusiak in Vigo with Joakim Ljunggren of Sweden in third place. The two will fight it out for the minor overall championhip places in the last event later in January. Taddy picked up his title with a straight scorecard from the three events held so far: three times maximum 15 points from Sheffield, Genoa and Vigo. With three riders in top three positions before the final event, Akrapovic is a dominant exhaust manufacturer. KTM riders are using 2-stroke muffler, while Husaberg’s Joakim Ljunggren is racing with evolution line exhaust on his FE390.
Overall 2010 World Cup Classification (after 3 out of 4 rounds):
1. Tadeusz Błażusiak, Poland, KTM, 135 points (2010 Champion)
2. Ivan Cervantes, Spain, KTM, 87
3. Joakim Ljunggren, Sweden, Husaberg, 74
4. Graham Jarvis, Sherco, Britain, 56
5. Daniel Gibert, Spain, Yamaha, 42

Akrapovic support to Riders for health R1 project

Rossi/Rider for health R1 project unveiled at long beach (USA)

1972 Daytona 200 winner Don Emde took the wraps off a very special 2009 Yamaha R1 project bike at the recent Long Beach show. Emde, who also announced the launch of a new non-profit organization called Friends of Riders for Health, Inc, led a one-year team effort to customize the machine with top end aftermarket accessories throughout and a one-off graphic theme replicating Valentino Rossi's famous "Five Continents" AGV helmet by famed designer Aldo Drudi.
The new 2009 R1 is scheduled to be sold at auction to be announced in late 2010 or early 2011. It is a fully street legal and licensed motorcycle, although it has been stripped of certain street equipment such as mirrors, turn signals and license plate/taillight for display and it will be delivered as a Track Day Only machine.
Emde commented, "Riders for Health is the official charity of the MotoGP series and I am so appreciative of the support from everyone in the sport that were involved in the project, including of course Valentino Rossi, who enthusiastically agreed to the use of his helmet design, and to Yamaha Motor Corp USA, AGV, Aldo Drudi of Drudi Performance and Luca Campanille of Pole Position. Without their support, such a unique finished product would not have been possible.
Emde's Friends of Riders for Health, Inc. non-profit organization is dedicated to raising funds for Riders for Health through special projects and the R1 was the first project for the new organization. Sponsors of the project were Yamaha Motor Corp. USA, Ohlins, Akrapovic, Drudi Performance, AGV, Pole Position Racing Service, Vortex, Roland Sands Designs, Yamaha GYTR, Yamaha Champions Riding School, Saddlemen, Bridgestone, EK, EBC, Goodridge, K&N, Dynojet and Imagine-It Graphics.
