The EVOLUTION line is an exceptional product. Due to the unconventional physical structure of each design, it is extremely difficult to make sweeping generalizations about them. Each one is a masterpiece intended exclusively for a particular model of bike and engine type.
Some newly developed exhaust systems use the latest tube forming technology, HYDROFORMING. Water at extremely high pressure is used to form the header tubes, whose unique shape gives better results for the flow of exhaust gases than previously attainable.
HYDROFORMING is a process of tube forming using a medium based on a water emulsion with lubricant additives. The introduction of this technology allows the complete realization of technological ideas which have been developed by Akrapovic R&D. One such idea is our patented D-type header tubes, which up to the present have been manufactured using other production processes. Some Evolution line models can be attached to the stock fittings and require no additional modification to the bike, while certain models are developed on the basis of factory racing kits intended for custom racing bikes, and therefore do not fit onto the stock motorcycle. In order to gain the maximum advantage from these models, the EFI mapping may have to be reset or the carburetor may have to be re-jetted, and in certain cases some minor modifications to the exterior of the bike or the engine are required. Replacement parts for such modifications are available with the factory race kits.
