An exhaust system looks simple at first glance. But a closer look shows that it is a complex system that has a significant effect on the performance of a racing or a regular sports car.

The experience in racing that we acquired over many years, taught us how to combine high performance, a long-life cycle and the lightest possible weight. Our numerous world championship titles and countless international and national titles are a testament to our continuous ability to fulfil our clients’ highest expectations.

Here are some of the most important facts about our exhaust systems:

• Lightweight
  The titanium we use for our exhaust systems is produced exclusively for us. It is three times stronger and is more heat resistant than any other titanium product on the market and 40% lighter than stainless steel. The high strength allows us to use thinner insulation while still achieving the highest quality standards. In fact, this brings our clients the decisive advantage on the race track.
• Performance and quality
  Motorcycles are our domain, where we are accustomed to being hard to please. We consider our new products to be ready for a production run, when we are convinced we created a cutting edge product. Our goal is to make the perfect torque and the perfect power curve. Our research and development department is provided with the latest equipment, so that they are able to combine their collective know-how obtained at many race tracks and even Formula 1, and apply it in practice.

Akrapovič in racing

Racing is the obvious and best proof of the quality of our products that the public can get. Long-term stress, under a full load of a 24-hour race is the ultimate test for us. Less weight, lower mass inertia, higher power, more torque – the clock is merciless and cruel. But our efforts were rewarded at the ADAC 24-Hour Race at Nürburgring in Germany, where Manthey Porsche achieved victory with a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system at the hardest endurance race in the world.

With Manthey-Racing at the BF Goodrich Long Distance Championship and the ADAC 24-Hour Race at Nürburgring

If you want to win a race you sometimes have to make adjustments in the right place. In this case it was to save on the weight and make adjustments to the rear suspension – a reduction of 12 kg was made to the exhaust! The Manthey-Racing Porsche 997 RSR Team, which uses this car in the hardest endurance race, does not leave anything to chance. Most notably not their choice of the exhaust system.

Porsche Sports Cup

Porsche cars, both traffic-permitted and those modified for racing, have caused huge exaltations at the Porsche Sports Cup Germany at six fully licensed and unlicensed series. These series are battled on six different weekends and at six renowned racing circuits, i.e., on Formula 1 race tracks Hockenheimring, Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. In these races, the ambitious and passionate motor sport pilots battle with each other in six exciting series.

Exhaust and noise regulations have to be achieved while obtaining the highest performance at the lightest weight possible for cars that attend the Porsche Sports Cup races and that are also valid in regular street use in everyday traffic, and racing.

At races with nearly identical vehicles and restrictive technical rules, that allow almost no changes to the vehicle, it is our job to show our clients that improvements are possible.
