Yamaha rider Ben Spies lived up to the hype again in Qatar, riding an incredible two races to take his second and third consecutive victories in the Losail heat.
With two third places Italian star Max Biaggi on Aprilia RSV4 completed almost perfect result for Akrapovic riders. It was great racing weekend also for BMW team as newcomers finished in top ten positions. Spies, the three-time AMA champion and WSBK rookie moved up to second position in the overall standings, behind Noriyuki Haga.
Akrapovic equipped riders had a big success also in World Supersport class, as Eugene Laverty of Ireland took victory on his Honda CBR 600 and with Britain Carl Crutchlow being third with his Yamaha R6.
