AMA Motocross/Supercross Championship; SX Lites
Successful End of the Season for Dungey, Roczen, and Musquin
08. May 2012
Last weekend, the last Supercross battles took place in Las Vegas. Riders using Akrapovič exhaust systems won two thirds and one second place overall.

The outcome after seventeen rounds of the exciting American Supercross series could have been even better if one of the best contenders for the championship title, Ryan Dungey, hadn’t been forced to miss five races due to a collarbone injury. But risk is part of the game in motorsport and so we can be quite happy with the final outcome. Dungey won the last two races in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, and proved that he can reach for the top and that he’s one-hundred-percent ready for the Outdoor Motocross season. He achieved a fifteen-point lead over his closest pursuer in the final race.

After the tough season, this rider using an Akrapovič exhaust system on his KTM 450 SX-F said: “It feels great to end the season with two wins. This was a tough season for me. I’m glad to end it on a positive note. I’m so happy to be a part of the Red Bull / KTM Team and am grateful for all their support. We’re turning our focus to outdoors now with the goal of winning the championship.”

The other two members of the Red Bull KTM Factory team also ended the season among the best three: in the Supercross Lites East class, Ken Roczen finished the Vegas race in second and secured the same position in the overall standings; in the Supercross Lites West class, Marvin Musquin’s sixth place was enough for him to win third place overall.

Akrapovič would like to congratulate all three riders and wish them the best possible results in the AMA Motorcross series too!!
