Roczen’s first Supercross win!
10. May 2011

In addition to the world motocross championship, the seventeen-year-old motocross rider from Germany is also taking part in Supercross races. His strong showing on territory that was less familiar to him in the final race of the season demonstrated that he is capable of reaching the top.

He showed this in the Lites West race on his 250 cc KTM that exhales through Akrapovič pipes, where he led right after the start up to the third lap, when he dropped back to second position due to a mistake. He pushed the pace even more toward the end and, after the leading Seely took a fall, Roczen triumphantly charged through the finish with a whopping 12-second lead.

“It feels so good to take the holeshot and the win in Las Vegas. I’ve always dreamed of racing in Vegas and to see the happiness on my team’s faces makes this the greatest win of my career,” stated the overjoyed Roczen in the glare of the American spotlights.

After a brief break, he also started in the Lites Shootout Main Event, where he came up from sixth starting position to take third place, earning KTM yet another podium on the same evening.

In the AMA Supercross Lites West overall standings, Ken Roczen finished in seventh place.
