25. April 2012
The Suzuki GRANDys Duo team isn’t happy with the outcome of the first round in 2012 because, as they say, it’s been two years since they left the racetrack with only one cup. This time around it was Marko Jerman that won it in the Superbike class.
On 21 and 22 April, the first races of the Polish and Alpe Adria Championships took place at the Slovakia Ring circuit. In the qualifying sessions the racers on the Suzuki GRANDys Duo team delivered an excellent performance, especially Andy Meklau, who won the pole position in the Superstock 1000 class. But unfortunately at the main event he fell in the first lap, which meant that he also had to miss the Superbike race. The best Superbike result was achieved by the Slovenian Marko Jerman, who won third place on his Suzuki GSX-R 1000 equipped with an Akrapovič exhaust system.
The other team members placed twenty-ninth (Mariusz Durynek in the Superbike class), fourteenth (Szymon Strankowski in the Junior Superstock 600 class), and seventh (Bartek Wiczyński in the Superstock class). The next test will take place on 13 May in Brno, Czech Republic.
