Hill Finishes British Superbike Championship in Third
17. October 2012
The final race of the BSB has taken place at the Brands Hatch Circuit. Akrapovič made it to the podium together with Hill and Yamaha.

The race at Brands Hatch on 14 October concluded the British road-racing championship season. The Akrapovič company supported two teams in the superbike class this year: Swan Yamaha and Samsung Honda. After twelve rounds, the best performance was delivered by Tommy Hill on a Yamaha YZF-R1; he made it across the finish line in third place in the final race, and also took the same position in the overall count, behind Josh Brookes and the winner, Shane Byrne.

“You have a lot of ups and downs in this sport,” said Hill after the season. “I’ve had a lot of downs throughout my career and last season it paid off. I knew it was going to be difficult this weekend and it’s been a fantastic year, but unfortunately for me the results at the start of the season don’t mean as much in the Showdown. The Showdown didn’t go so well for me and I feel deflated more than anything because of the bad luck. The facts are that everyone’s riding hard and at the top of their game. Shakey is a deserving champion and we finished in the top three this year. I trained hard and gave it 110%, and that was what’s important.”

At the end of this exciting championship with well-matched racers, the red scorpion also appeared in fifth place (Michael Laverty, Honda) and eighth (Noriyuki Haga, Yamaha). Guys, congratulations!
