Dungey Celebrates with Family and Friends
16. July 2012
Motocross racer Ryan Dungey celebrated in front of a home crowd this time around with a double victory. Roczen took fourth place in the 250 class.

For a racer there’s nothing better than competing on your home turf—and, if your hard work pays off in a victory, it’s all the better. Ryan Dungey, riding a KTM outfitted with an Akrapovič exhaust system, scored two victories not far from his hometown at the Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville. Despite barely holding onto eighth place in the first turn of the first race, he crossed the finish line a full 23 seconds before his closest challenger, and he led the second race from start to finish.

“It feels great to get a win here in front of my friends and family. This was a track I raced on growing up, and it’s still one of my favorites on the circuit,” said Ryan, who now leads the championship with an 80-point advantage.

His teammates Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin took fourth and seventh places in the 250 class, and they hold fourth and fifth places in the overall standings. The next round will take place in just under a week, on 21 July in Washington.
