Max Biaggi rode an Aprilia RSV4 equipped with an Akrapovic exhaust to take the World SBK Championship following a difficult and exciting weekend on the Imola circuit! Max Biaggi—now with his fifth title after four consecutive world championships in the 250cc class from 1994 to 1997—is the first Italian World Superbike Champion. This is also Akrapovic’s second World Superbike title in a row because American rider Ben Spies won the title in 2009 riding an Akrapovic-equipped Yamaha.
