Carbon Tail pipes are an option to titanium tail pipes for Akrapovič Slip-On and Evolution Systems

Akrapovič, the leading manufacturer of performance exhaust systems, has extended the range of aftermarket applications for BMW M3 (E90, E92 and E93) with optional special carbon fibre tail pipes.

The new carbon fibre tail pipes, an alternative choice to the popular titanium ones, are available with either the entry level fully titanium Slip-On (plus 3HP, 4Nm and 14kg lighter than stock) or with the Evolution titanium full system.

The Evolution system equipped BMW M3, fitted with the newly developed racing look carbon fibre tail pipes, gets 22HP more power plus 35Nm of torque and amazing weight saving of 24 kilograms over the OEM system. For those who prefer a fully titanium system the same gains are achieved with the titanium tail pipes fitted to the Evolution system.

Race developed

Akrapovič is known as the company that pays attention to every detail. This is true when it comes to their tail pipes, the only visible part of exhaust systems. Before launching the new range, different configurations of new carbon fibre exhaust tail pipes were tested on different vehicles and different locations.

Among the test cars used was the MotoGP racing series BMW M3 Safety car. Of course its not all about the look, power and weight, one of the most important aspects of the driving experience is the sound. The BMW M3, equipped with an Akrapovič system, can be recognised with your eyes closed, so distinctive is the sound of a Bavarian V8 with Slovenian tuning expertise. Achieving a deeper sound was one of the leading factors when developing the system using the very light carbon fibre tail pipes. Akrapovič manufacture everything; exhaust systems, titanium and carbon fibre tail pipes, in their leading edge production plant.

Exquisite tail pipes

The new Akrapovič carbon fibre tail pipes have incorporated a special damping material within the inner tube, that helps the exhaust system note deliver a deeper tone. The inner sleeve of the carbon fibre tail pipes is made of special grade of titanium. When driving hard the titanium develops a magical blue colour, that reflects the true performance nature of the exhaust system. The special heat resistant carbon fibre with the detailed, unique Akrapovič logo is the icing on the cake.
